“The twin towers of the gospel – Grace and
Peace”
Eph. 1:2
“We have grace and peace—two benefits from the open
hand of God. I think the order is of supreme importance. We can
never know the peace of God in our hearts without first experiencing
the grace of God in our lives. Peace is a wonderful spin off from
the grace of God. To use a different analogy, grace is the fountain
of which peace is a flowing stream. Paul could not possibly have
wished anything better for them. This was the aspiration of his
heart that they might know both blessings. It was Paul’s dream
for them!
Grace is something that comes to us that we do not deserve and
which we can never repay. Grace stoops to where we are and lifts
us to where we ought to be.”
